LOVING ILLUSION
2013 or earlier
Based on the allegoric story "Only for love" of psychiatrist and writer Jorge Bucay which can be found in his book "Stories to think about" (Bucay: 2007) this film is about two people that, because of time and space, they cannot meet. The man sees this woman that catches his attention in the street and then loses her. His path through life becomes intense because he is searching for her. He gets defined by the love he feels about her, and his life is about finding her. The man becomes obsessed with the idea of this woman, and in his mind he creates images of her, idolizing her. The story intends to emphasize the fact that we as humans tend to create stories around a person of desire even without knowing them. We meet a person and at the beginning we believe that this is the person we have been looking for, we create images in our minds about the future with them before sometimes even talking to them. Human brain creates situations and loves the idea of something and not that specific thing itself. Especially when it comes to love that habit of our minds becomes even more significant.
This film was made for the Fashion Spectacle unit of MA Fashion Media Production in London College of Fashion. Being my second film ever created, I tried to experiment with filming on several locations and the studio, feel more free in the creating process, as well as play with the narrative and the perception of the viewer through editing.
