I was discovered at a school fair type thing. Jasper [Zippora's brother, also a model] was discovered the same week. He said yes, I originally said no – I didn’t even really know what modelling was then, I thought it was doing Playboy or something. I came around after a while – I’m glad I did, because I love it. I’ve been modelling about 5 years. Favourite modelling job you’ve done so far? I loved shooting for Urban Outfitters. When you work with them they take you away to the most amazing, beautiful, unseen places to shoot and it’s like having a holiday for a few days. It’s so much fun. What do you love about modelling, and what do you hate about it? I love the travel, and meeting people and being infront of the camera – you get to portray different characters. There are too many good things about modelling to hate it. I’m really grateful to be doing what I’m doing. I don’t really like castings though. The hardest part is being away from people a lot, missing people. It’s quite unpredictable – you can never, ever make plans. Not even for the next week. If someone asks me to go to something in the weekend I have to say ‘maybe’ even if I’d love to go, because I might have to leave the country the day before. You never know. If you weren’t modelling, what would you be doing? I’ve always wanted to run away to the circus and become a horseback acrobat. I think that’s what I’d be doing. What would be your dream modelling job? Vogue Italia. No – wait, the cover of Italian Vogue. What’s something people wouldn’t necessarily know about you? I was painfully shy as a child. So, so shy. Modelling has been good in that respect – it’s forced me not to be so shy. What’s the last thing you bought? A new bikini and this really cool old second-hand Auckland University jumper. Do you have a favourite colour? Yellow. Favourite food? Fish. Favourite model? Johnny Depp’s wife – Vanessa Paradis. I like her. And Natalia Vodianova. Favourite photographer? Chadwick Tyler. Favourite place in the world? The North Island of New Zealand. And Venice. I’ve been to so many places all over the world that I didn’t even know existed, but I still love being home.
