red_ed
I'm not a big fan of Liverpool's mustard yellow jersey :x I'm not sure anyone is :| Our away uniforms always look like crap

Bouazizi
Liverpool have Eindhoven and Gala *eyes Bouazizi* but I have faith we'll pick up our game and make it through. Ha ha! I think it's a pretty good draw for Gala - not the best, but it could have been so much worse. Our record against Liverpool is surprisingly good though, beat ya in the Amsterdam Cup 2-1, drew 0-0 and 1-1 in the CL a few years back too. If I'm being honest, I really think Gala can make it through this group, along with Liverpool of course, probably in 2nd place behind you guys. Liverpool heading back to Istanbul...but this time to be beaten.
red_ed
I really don't doubt that. I think we'll play for the draw really... It's a long trip to Istanbul and playing in front of the Gala fatihful isn't exactly fun. I think you guys can win that leg easily. With PSV seemingly a bit shaky at the moment (and Guus-less) I think you guys will be our biggest threat
Bouazizi
You really think so? Hmm I'm not too sure...I mean both teams are looking a little shakey in our domestic leagues...Gala have drawn 3 and won just one so far this season. Despite thrashing our opponents in the qualifiers, 6-3, we still have a looong way to go 'till we're CL ready. Certain players such as Hakan Sukur are STILL playing for us...the guy should be in a retirement home by now! On a good day, maybe Gala can beat Liverpool in Istanbul, but on a bad day...you'll slaughter us. Having said all that though, it's clear that all teams play differently in Europe...so things could change. I'm happy qualifying second. Bouazizi
btw - the Istanbul game won't be played at the Ali Sami Yen, as it (surprise, surprise) didn't pass the UEFA test. So that means...the game shall be held at the Olympic Stadium, in front of 83,000 fans!
red_ed
we're over-cautious in Europe and look for the early goal and defend like crazy Don't think that'll change away from home either Anyway, we're not efficient. We still have the problems of last year. Now we're not playing through the centre at all, just on the wings, with minimal movement in the centre and a terribly shaky defence. We have attacking options but for every 10 chances we make, we only get 1 goal. That doesn't cut it in Europe :|

Now we're not playing through the centre at all, just on the wings, with minimal movement in the centre and a terribly shaky defence. We have attacking options but for every 10 chances we make, we only get 1 goal. It seems that Liverpool and Galatasaray are suffering from the same problems! Perhaps PSV and Bordeaux will qualify after all...! For Gala, "tactics" are such that all passes must find their way to one "striker" - Sukur. He's SO incredibly useless that his scoring ratio is probably something like 1 goal per every 30 chances! And since all balls need to go to him, it limits the creativity of the midfield players as well as the other striker! Defence is so inconsistent with us too, some game it's perfect and others its so shaky. First games are, Gala - Bord and PSV - Liverpool.... I'm thinking Gala and Liverpool will win those two, although I wanna keep my mouth shut until after the game.
red_ed
We hardly employ Alonso on the ball anymore If we;re not going to use his passing then we might as well field Sissoko if we play a 4-4-2 (after he comes back from injury) Xabi has been mediocre at best since coming back from the WC and Gerrard was th one launching all the long balls around and dictating the tempo of the game against West Ham. Xabi needs to get back in form I'd be happy taking 4 points from the first 2 games in the Champions League to be honest, but I think we can shrug off PSV They've lost a lot of players of the past few years but the loss of Guus will certianly hit them hardest. Eindhoven isn't a very long trip anyway so I think we'll be able to take the game to them. We can take 6 points against Bordeaux on matchdays 3 & 4 before grabbing 3 from PSV at home. Hopefully it won't have to come down to the game at Istanbul And Bordeaux and PSV? Don't be silly :trout:

He's a classy player, I'd say he's only playing at 60% capacity! Oh yeah, and what sort of injury does Sissiko have at the moment? Nothing major I hope. Liverpool's unlucky though - I mean Alonso's out of form, Sissoko's injured and Cisses's out of action for an eternity...pretty much. If it does come to it, the Istanbul game will be the one to watch...that'd be awesome! I'm thinking of going to Bordeaux to see the Gala game...I wonder how I can get tickets in London though?
