i cant believe she is dead and i REALLY cant believe it was suicide .. there is something wrong, her friends/family said she was so happy, didnt used drugs and she spended the night before her dead with her bf. really i think there is something wrong ..

He noted that she seemed to be "on top of the world" and there is no apparent reason why she would commit suicide.[4] However, she appeared brokenhearted and angry in some of her postings on a social networking site. Kazakh model in apparent suicide plunge

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A 20-year-old woman identified by local media as Kazakh supermodel Ruslana Korshunova plunged to her death from a Manhattan apartment on Saturday in an apparent suicide.

Police said only that the woman was discovered dead in front of an apartment building in downtown Manhattan, near the financial district and the South Street Seaport tourist area.

Korshunova had graced the covers of European editions of Elle and Vogue and walked the catwalks for designers including Betsey Johnson and Jill Stuart.

Witnesses described seeing her plunge from a ninth-floor balcony in the building on Saturday afternoon.

Local media, citing police sources, said there was no sign of a struggle inside her apartment and that Korshunova was believed to have leaped to her death.

A friend told The New York Post, however, that Korshunova had just returned from a modelling job in Paris and seemed "on top of the world."

"There were no signs," the unidentified friend was quoted as saying. "I don't see one reason why she would do that."

Korshunova, a native of Kazakhstan, had been profiled in British Vogue in recent years as a new face to watch, and she was featured in ads by Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs, Christian Dior and DKNY.

A spokesman for Korshunova's agency, IMG, which also handles Heidi Klum and Kate Moss, said "We're shocked and our heart goes out to her family," the Daily News reported.

Oh my God!

I saw sth about Korshunova written by gigiriva and lisa-1 in Models League competition i think, but didn't get it, why they said sth about removing her from this competition.....then saw persuazn's post in some thread with Ruslana set and written "R.I.P." for Ruslana and I was like: wtf? So i googled her thread at tfs....and this news page about her.....even on one of the most popular Polish website there was an info about it, as the last though, because 80% of them there were about EURO 2008.

Never was a fan of hers, but still..... suicide?? I wonder why.... I mean...whatever.

I know itąs so lame to write in somebodząs thread when a person is dead, but still....

when I read about it, i was like: wtf? What happened? Eating disorder? Death from hunger? Car crash? No! Suicide? It's like....hard to believe!

May her soul rest in peace, my condolences to her family, friends and co-workers.
