ricardamanutd Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 I heard of this movie only a few days ago and immediately thought that it would be another blockbuster 2009 summer hit. Basically another superhero movie from DC comics , but I heard that the graphic novel was very good.Story outline:"Watchmen" is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the "Doomsday Clock" - which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union - is permanently set at five minutes to midnight. When one of his former colleagues is murdered, the washed up but no less determined masked vigilante Rorschach sets out to uncover a plot to kill and discredit all past and present superheroes. As he reconnects with his former crime-fighting legion - a ragtag group of retired superheroes, only one of whom has true powers - Rorschach glimpses a wide-ranging and disturbing conspiracy with links to their shared past and catastrophic consequences for the future. Their mission is to watch over humanity... but who is watching the Watchmen?"from: IMDB Quote

tuhreese Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I first saw the trailer I was completly blown away on how great this movie is going to be. The plot looks good, and I love the characters! Quote
Ophelia_Immortal Posted January 16, 2009 Posted January 16, 2009 I am doubtful about this movie - but after numerous disappointments from comics being turned into movies(X-men, Hulk, most batman movies ect.), can you blame me? However; it does look interesting and I will see it Quote
Ophelia_Immortal Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 I enjoyed Iron Man, but I never liked the comic Quote
widget Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 yeah, sometimes it seems like movie makers found a stash of material (in comic books) and are just racing each other to churn them mutha's out. are there any comic book movies in particular that you've enjoyed? Quote
Ophelia_Immortal Posted March 13, 2009 Posted March 13, 2009 Rorschach was pretty much the only one worth watching Quote
