I had Avast Anti-virus, Windows Firewall (SP2), Spybot, Ad-aware, and Spydoctor.

And a hacker managed to change my MSN MEssenger password!

I don't know how the hell this happened.

At that time:

-I had my Mozilla browser running, viewing Bellazon .

-I wasn't downloading anything. eMule and Torrent was not being used.

-I did not receive any send files through MSN Messenger.

-It was hacked in less than 20 hours.

The hacker told me to log-out and log-in again.

I can't log in, after that.

He didnt specify.

He just say log-out.

And so I just restart the whole comp.

Whether I restart or not, it doesnt matter, my password has been changed.

I did all kinds of scan for Virus, Trojans and spywares. Nothing on my comp.

But, I know that he takes less than 24 hours to do this stuff, still he couldn't possibly figure out all the combinations so fast.

Ok, I was talking to him. And he said: "You can log-out now."

No error message appeared!

This is the second time he changed my password.

He doesn't know the answer to the secret question. Heck, I don't even know that! I typed in gibberish for my profile in whenever I sign up for anything online.

The hacker did not send me any email (I just use to this account for chatting, so I never bother to check the Inbox).

He is a friend of mine and he loves pulling pranks on people.

He has done this on quite a few people already.

So, you have totally no idea how he did it?

Not him, exactly. To be precise, it's his friend.

The first time they hacked into it, because they were pulling a prank on me.

The second time, I challenged them to hack again.

Now, I got my password back already, but still couldn't figure out how they manage to do it.

quasicartes is quasicurus is www.totse.com forum. I checked what he has been writing there. I found this message written by him:

I was chatting with my friend last week and I challenged him to hack my MSN Messenger/Hotmail account and change the password. The next day, we were talking again, and I asked him why he had not hack my account yet. He said: "Give me five mins. After that, you log-out and you won't be able to log-in again, as password has been changed."

What is unclear to me is how long he takes to do the hacking. 5 mins or did he started hacking the day before?

He doesn't know my password, or answer to secret question (Heck, I don't even remember the answer). Plus, the birthdate that I entered is fake and didn't even remember it myself.

HOW DOES HE DO IT?????

[This message has been edited by quasicurus (edited 07-24-2005).]

The first reply he gets is:

Keylogged you password?

17 minutes later he starts a new thread and asks this:

I want to send a key-logger spyware to a friend and he has Anti-virus and firewall. Is there any way I can get it into his systems?

He get this answer:

cruel-intentionz.com

register to get the undetectable keylogger

You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see I am in trouble! What am I going to do ? Any constructive suggestions?

Why do you think you are in trouble?

btw jackovasaurus's suggestion is the safest solution.

Long story. At least I am paranoid.

Switch off my comp? What kind of solution is that?
