Exclusive: An Interview With Mulberry’s Emma Hill

post-13181-1294510222_thumb.jpg

Who is your ultimate design muse and what would you design for him or her?

EH: Our gorgeous line up for our S/S11 show was inspired by the beautiful Julia Johansen (shown above). She was our muse-model for the season (we fell in love with her Scandinavian complexion, her cheeky freckles and her awesome choppy red hair) and so we had the brilliant Sam McKnight replicate her hair for each of our 16 girls!

haha thanks for that! I'm glad someone likes her, at least a little! :flower:

not just a little, she might be the most beautiful girl ever hailing from finland

and besides that the most gorgeous redhead.

RED HOT

Thursday, 9 December 2010

Well well well... looks like we have another star in the making! Not content with being Mulberry’s muse last season, our resident redhead Julia is now racking up some major editorials including Velvet Magazine and Italian Vogue...guess this means red is the new blonde! The best is yet to come...for anyone who has seen the September Issue this will have significant wow factor...Julia is currently in NYC shooting American Vogue, styled by Grace Coddington and shot by Mario Testino, now that’s what we call a dream team! We may have to wait a while for the issue to hit the stands but to keep us going the lovely miss J has sent us this sneak preview from behind the scenes...looks like we’ll be cracking out red hair dye next year!

Finnish model Julia Johansen of Elite London is featured in a playgirl in the wild editorial entitled “Fleeting Fancies” for the online publication the Ones2Watch shot by Elvis Di Fazio. Styled by Sasha Rainbow, Julia is showcased in black and white in a black Tory Burch sequin jacket and Nova Dando dress with Sergio Rossi sandals, a white Azzaro fur cape an Olga De Poga tunic with Jonathan Aston stockings and Sergio Rossi wedges, a striped Olga De Poga dress with a Lucy Hutchings breast plate necklace, a Nova Dando bodysuit and leopard-print Tory Burch jacket with a leopard-print handbag by Lanvin and Sergio Rossi wedges, and a shoulder piece and feather jacket by Nova Dando and Olga De Poga disco leggings with Sergio Rossi boots. Although the entire editorial is imaged in black-and-white, the beauty of the garments but rather enhanced such as the ensemble with every piece containing some sort of leopard-print. In color, the outfit may seem to have too much variation in leopard, but shown in black-and-white, these prints add great dimension to the image.
