LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE Posted February 6, 2012 Posted February 6, 2012 Lost Girl is a Canadian supernatural crime drama television series that premiered on the Showcase Television network in September 2010. The series is developed and produced by Prodigy Pictures. The series follows the life of a succubus named Bo, played by Anna Silk, as she learns to control her abilities, help those in need, and discover the truth about her origins. The show received positive initial reviews, and was renewed for a second season two months after its premiere.[2] As of December 2011, the show has been renewed for a third season.[3] Plot Season 1 Main article: List of Lost Girl episodes (Season 1)Bo is a succubus who grew up in an adoptive human family, unaware of her non-human nature and of the Fae world. Her succubus powers only become apparent to her when she accidentally kills her first love by draining him of his life energy, an act which forces her to flee her home. Bo exchanges her previously normal life for one without family or friends, moving from place to place whenever she kills again. In the pilot episode, Bo saves a human girl named Kenzi; the two quickly become friends and Kenzi decides they should team up to create a Fae/Human detective agency. Confronted by the Fae elders with having to choose a side ("Light" or "Dark"), Bo declares herself neutral, deciding to side with humans after Kenzi risked her life to find what had happened to Bo for her own sake where most of the Fae simply saw her as another factor on the board. Throughout the season, Bo learns more about the Fae world and herself while she searches for information about her origins. Along the way, Bo also develops romantic relationships with both Dyson, a wolf shifter police detective and Lauren, a human doctor. Main cast Anna Silk as Bo …quot; A succubus, she has the power to steal people's life force through their mouths with a kiss, to bewitch people with a touch, and to feed from sexual energy during intercourse. Though at first she could not feed without killing, she has since learned to control her powers. She can only seem to go a few days without feeding before the drive overcomes her. Absorbing power from other Fae can increase her strength, although her 'default' power level when feeding from humans has not been established. She is best friends with Kenzi and is romantically involved with both Lauren and Dyson. When Lauren's life was threatened and she was rendered near death, she displayed a strange, extremely powerful alternate persona, which drained the life from multiple individuals at a distance of several meters and declared that "there will be no more dark or light, only me". She has been given a vision of the future in which she kills Trick, who refers to her as "Ysabeau". Ksenia Solo as Kenzi …quot; Bo's best friend and sidekick- declared as Bo's 'property' to allow her to participate in Fae society-, despite being a normal human, who suggested Bo use her neutrality to her advantage to become a private investigator. A scam artist who displays kleptomanic tendencies, she can speak Russian fluently and possesses excellent street-smarts. Despite their differences, she and Bo quickly became close, Bo choosing humanity rather than Fae because Kenzi risked her life to find out what had happened to Bo during her 'trial' where the Fae seemed to consider Bo just another factor in their game. She frequently acts as the comic relief. Her family is apparently highly connected. She frequently assists and/or vexes Hale. Kristen Holden-Ried as Dyson …quot; A wolf-shifter and a detective in the human world. Even in human form he is quite strong and possesses a very acute sense of smell. He is several hundred years old and very knowledgeable about Fae politics. A member of the Light Fae, his true allegiance is to Trick rather than the Ash. He is in love with Bo- the two occasionally engaging in sexual trysts while Bo was learning about her powers so that she could feed without killing- and is best friends with Hale, his Fae detective partner, although his love for Bo caused him pain because he cannot express it openly due to the issues surrounding her mysterious background. In the season one finale, he sacrificed his love for Bo to give her the strength to defeat her insane mother as part of a deal with the Norn, leaving him with the memory of their relationship but unable to feel his old passion for her. He has since made efforts to remain friends with Bo, which was initially awkward as Bo tried to win him back. After being reunited with his old love Ciara, they began a relationship, which is hampered by Dyson's reluctance to reveal his encounter with the Norn and the price he paid. Zoie Palmer as Lauren …quot; Owned by the Ash, she serves as a doctor and scientist for the Light Fae. Her position earns her the respect of the Light Fae, despite being human. She was bewitched by Bo during their first meeting and has since fallen in love with her. She has extensive knowledge of the different types of Fae and their abilities. In the first season, she taught Bo how to control her powers. It was later revealed that she has a human girlfriend named Nadia who is being kept in stasis because she contracted a disease that humans are normally immune to while on a humanitarian mission with Lauren. The Ash offered Lauren the help of the Fae curing Nadia, in exchange for her servitude, explaining why he "owns" her. With Bo's help, she discovers that she was tricked by the Ash: Nadia was cursed by a Fae to have the seeming of the disease in order to induce her to accept servitude, so the Ash could use her medical expertise to help the Fae. When she discovers this, she goes to the new Ash and demands he release Nadia, discarding her allegiance when he refuses. After being imprisoned by the Ash, and with the progression of a string of Fae murders with which he requires her assistance, he arranges to free Nadia. Lauren renews her vow of servitude in payment, this time for life, not aware that it was Bo who actually removed the curse (Bo acting under the false impression that if she tells Lauren the curse will return, this time permanently). Rick Howland as Fitzpatrick "Trick" McCorrigan …quot; He is the owner and bartender of the only Fae pub in town, The Dal Riata, which is neutral ground where Dark and Light Fae can go freely. Trick is very powerful; a Blood Seer, he has the ability to alter fate by writing in his own blood. Once known as the Blood King, he is on equal terms with the Fae elders, though few are aware of his true self. Compared to other Fae (who have contempt for humans), he is very tolerant and even fond of humans, even trading away his most prized possession to help save Kenzi's life. He is extremely reluctant to use his blood powers, as they always carry a price. Recurring cast K.C. Collins as Hale …quot; Dyson's colleague and another Fae undercover agent in the police force. He is a siren, able to render humans and even other Fae unconscious or fascinate them with his whistle, so that they will docilely follow him. Hale is good friends with Kenzi, especially since they are both sidekicks to an "alpha dog." Like Trick and Dyson, he is relatively fond of humans. Emmanuelle Vaugier as Ebony Florette Marquis, the Morrígan …quot; The leader of the Dark Fae and possibly the only one of her kind. She runs a talent agency in the human world, where she represents young musicians and artists, feeding off their talent and energy. She appears as a sexy young woman with a brusque attitude, assumes that Bo is lying and insists that she should be killed. Cle Bennett as the Ash …quot; The leader of the Light Fae prior to and during the first season. He appears as a quiet, aristocratic man with a soft voice, who thinks more of the future than the Morrigan does. He hoped to bring Bo into the Light Fae, and uses Lauren to try to manipulate her. He is badly injured by an assassin sent by Bo's mother, and is in a coma at the end of the first season. It is later revealed that he manipulated Lauren into serving him, arranging to have a Fae Witch Doctor place a curse on her girlfriend Nadia and then offering Lauren helping in curing her 'disease' in exchange for her servitude. Vincent Walsh as the Ash …quot; A Fae named Lachlan who wins the now-vacant position of the Ash; smug, sexy, dangerous, charismatic and a formidable force in his own right. Power-hungry, he is a stickler for rules.[6] Lina Roessler as Ciara …quot; An old love of Dyson's. In the past, a Fae king wanted her for his own and sent her husband, Dyson's best friend, to die so he could claim her. Dyson attempted to save him, but was unwilling to pay the Norn's Price. Dyson prepared to attack the king for his actions, but was convinced to simply leave by the remainder of their pack, who would have been honor bound to stop him, and did not see her again. They are reunited after her husband's death, and quickly begin the romance they could not have before due to her marriage. She is upset that no one will tell her what happened between Bo and Dyson. While she is initially treated frostily by Bo and Kenzi (which she fails to notice), Bo eventually comes to consider her a friend. She is extremely rich due to her former husband's inheritance, but is not conscious of this with regard to those around her. Athena Karkanis as Nadia …quot; Lauren's human girlfriend. It turns out that it was the former Ash who ordered the cursing of Nadia, with the goal of gaining Lauren's service in the fight against some sort of Fae-ravaging plague. In the episode "Masks", she wakes up from the curse. Development and production On November 16, 2008, Prodigy Pictures issued a press release that they had been commissioned by Canwest Global to produce a pilot for Lost Girl, a drama about a young woman with supernatural powers. The pilot was to be written by Michelle Lovretta who had previously written for the Canadian television series Mutant X.[7] On August 19, 2009, Canwest Global issued a press release that the Showcase Television channel, a subsidiary of the main company, had picked up the rights to a one hour supernatural drama series. The cast would include Anna Silk, previously in such series as Billable Hours, and Being Erica as filling the lead role of the character Bo in the series. Kristen Holden-Ried, from the series The Tudors as another main character named Dyson, an inhuman cop involved in a love/hate relationship with Bo, and two-time Gemini Award winner Ksenia Solo as a third character named Kenzi, Bo’s street-smart and fiercely loyal human best friend. Also in the cast would be Rick Howland, from the film Bon Cop, Bad Cop as Trick, a friendly saloon keeper with something to hide.[8] The release stated the series' promotional efforts would include an interactive website, graphic novel, and downloadable video game. On April 7, 2010, Prodigy reported that the green-light had been given for a series to be produced to consist of thirteen one-hour episodes.[9] Production on the series began in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in the spring of 2010, at sites across southern Ontario and at a small studio in western Toronto.[10] Completion of the series' primary production occurred June 25, and the series was aimed for a September 2010 release date. On June 22, 2010 Keyframe Digital of Niagara-On-The-Lake, Ontario reported that they had been given the contract for visual effects on the first thirteen episodes of Lost Girl, referring to it as fantasy/noir.[11] As part of the promotion of the series, an official site was opened at the beginning of August 2010 at lostgirlseries.com. It contained a short trailer for the series, and a summary of information on the series and the characters. On August 20, an interactive comic book was also released that would serve as a lead-in to the series and characters for viewers. It also was expected to have a forum for viewers to interact with the cast and crew before the series actually aired on Showcase. On the same date, a press release indicated that the series cast and crew would be making an appearance at Fan Expo Canada held in Toronto from August 27-29, where they would be answering questions about the series and have promotional items available for watchers of the series as well.[12] Episode 8 of the series, called "Vexed", was the first episode produced and served as the series pilot which was shown to Showcase to obtain the green light for the series.[13] On November 12, 2010, the Showcase Blog announced that Lost Girl would be renewed for a second season.[14] On May 18th, 2011, Variety reported that the American cable channel Syfy had acquired the rights to show both seasons of Lost Girl.[15] On October 10, during the Syfy Digital Press Tour held in Orlando, Florida, Syfy announced that the series would premiere in the United States on January 16th, 2012, at 10 PM Eastern Time.[16] An announcement on July 7th, 2011 by Showcase confirmed that the season premiere would be on September 4th, 2011 and that an additional nine episodes had been ordered to bring season two to a total of 22 episodes.[17] Episodes Main article: List of Lost Girl episodesSeasonEpisodesOriginally airedDVD release dateSeason premiereSeason finaleRegion 1Region 2Region 4113September 12, 2010 (2010-09-12)December 12, 2010 (2010-12-12)March 27, 2012N/ANovember 23, 2011222September 4, 2011N/AN/AN/AN/A313[18] Quote

LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 episode:Food For Thought Lauren and Bo have been spending a lot of time together so that Bo can learn to control her feeding urges, but Lauren has to work hard to tamp down her romantic feelings for Bo. She invites Bo and Kenzi to come on a house call with her, but Kenzi's ravenous appetite keeps her in the kitchen and out of the sick room. They visit a woman named Halima, a Fae who eats the corpses of humans. She's bleeding from her eyes and internally, and no one has any idea what's causing it. Halima doubts it was related to her food, although the foot soup she made did give her indigestion. Lauren and Bo go to collect Kenzi moments too late - she's eaten the soup, and before long, she falls ill. Bo will stop at nothing to save her. The foot came from a man who had a shady relationship to a company called Behren Chemicals. Lauren disguises herself as a visiting consultant while Bo uses her natural and supernatural powers of seduction to get a job as an assistant to one of Behren's officers, and the two look for anything amiss at the company. Lauren discovers something odd in Sector 6, so she and Bo devise a plan: Lauren will create a diversion while Bo uses the keys she pilfered from her new boss to gain access to the Sector. Dyson spends as much time at Kenzi's bedside at Light Fae headquarters as he can, but when the mission to crack Behren Chemicals calls him away, Kenzi takes the opportunity to escape from the watchful eyes of those who hold humans in such high disdain. Dyson finds out and tracks her scent - to a graveyard. He does his best to comfort her and assure her that Bo and Lauren will find a cure but, with Halima dead, he's not too convinced of that, himself. Bo reaches Sector 6, but is stymied by the man guarding the door. She tries to woo him with her humanoid wiles, but the guard doesn't bat for her team. Left with no recourse, she must use her succubus powers on him. She rejoices when she's able to feed and stop herself before she kills him. Lauren arrives, and the two enter Sector 6. They expect rows and rows of files, but discover a sterile room with a large, glowing tank in the middle, housing an Under Fae called a basilisk. Bo stabs the creature and snags a tissue sample, but the creature is too dangerous for them to leave in the hands of Behren, so they shut down the tank's life support and dash from the facility before they're found out. Lauren creates an antitoxin from the tissue sample and administers it to Kenzi, who has been resting up at Trick's place. As soon as Kenzi makes a recovery, Lauren says her goodbyes. Lauren and Bo are too familiar for Dyson's comfort, but in order to protect Bo and the Light Fae, he can't let his feelings show. Quote
LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 episode:Dead Lucky Kenzi is doing her best to earn a little cash via the P.I. business, but when Bo doesn't show up, the client gets offended that she's been pawned off on "the assistant." Kenzi wants to ream Bo for leaving her in the lurch, but when she hears Bo's excuse - she was abducted and taken to a secret meeting with a member of the Dark Fae - Kenzi relents. Bo tells Kenzi about her night - after meeting with Dyson for some "healing," she was scooped off the street and hustled to a dim sum shop where Mayer, a Fae who feeds off of human luck, lured her into helping him by offering her a meeting with his niece, Cassie, an oracle who can tell her about her origin. Mayer is a bookie in the human world, and after draining all of the luck from one of his regular clients, the man still managed to win big. This snafu leaves Mayer two hundred grand short on his payout to The Morrigan, head of the Dark Fae, which is why he needs Bo: she can enter light or dark territories and find out who fixed his client up with such powers. Kenzi and Bo soon discover that the client, Roger, has been dead for two days, meaning that someone possessed his body in order to bring Mayer down. Dyson brings Bo to such a Fae, a Hsien, or Body Jumper, named Eddie who tells them that a Dark Hsien named Lucas is in town, and could've been involved. Bo delivers the news to Mayer, who suspects that his rival, Jesper, might be in the driver's seat. Mayer sends them to a backroom poker joint run by Jesper. Kenzi and Bo suit up and head out, but while they investigate what turns out to be a dead end, Lucas has found and killed Eddie. Bo and Dyson rush to the scene of the crime, and narrowly manage to get the body-snatching Lucas on his knees. He finally tells them that he's working for Mayer's nephew, Seymour, who was fed up with being treated like a dog. Mayer takes the news with relative grace - he'll hide his nephew somewhere safe so the Dark Fae can't get him. Kenzi, who had had it in for Dyson because of how he treated Bo, makes peace with him when she sees how often he's willing to let Bo drain his energy for healing purposes. As for Bo, she gets her time with the Oracle, who tells her that her mother is alive, and coming for her. Quote
LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 episode: Faetal Attraction Ever since Bo found Dyson with another woman, she's been inconsolable. Little does she know that, across town at the police station, Dyson's handling heartbreak his own way, and his frustration at having to let go of Bo for the sake of the Light Fae is taking its toll. His violent outbursts at work have landed him in the psychiatrist's office, but he refuses to admit, even to himself, that he wants to be with Bo. Kenzi drags Bo out of her funk and into a bar for some rebound action and sure enough, a tall-dark-and-handsome Fae named Samir tells Bo that his wife wants the three of them to...get to know each other. And since his wife, Olivia, is a Fury, she gets whatever she wants. Bo initially refuses, being gun shy, but when Dyson walks in, she decides to show him what's up. Bo escorts Samir and Olivia back to her place. Kenzi dons her earplugs. The next day, Bo gets a surprise visit from Olivia, but it's not about love - it's about revenge. Apparently, Samir has been sneaking around with a human, a girl named Jenny, and Olivia has a stack of love letters from the girl. Olivia tries to hire Bo to kill Jenny - Olivia would do it herself, if not for the rules the Light Fae have laid down about killing humans - but Bo refuses. Olivia, left without recourse, goes to do the job herself, and Bo and Kenzi rush to Jenny's house to prevent a murder. When they get there, Olivia already has the girl in her grips. Bo manages to kick the Fae off the girl, but Olivia turns her Fury power on Bo. As she peers into Bo's eyes, Olivia's eyes burn red, infecting Bo's mind with rage and madness. Bo manages to grab a barrier that flips the beam back into Olivia's eyes, and Oliva, herself, goes mad. She runs from the place in a fit of insanity as Kenzi and Bo usher Jenny to their house. Bo goes to Samir's house to get the real story, but she's too late - Olivia staggers out, her hands bloody, and Bo finds Samir with his head lopped off. She goes to tell Jenny, and when the girl breaks down, Bo gives her a touch of good energy to soothe the pain. But it may be too much - Jenny develops a full-on crush for Bo. Dyson finds out about the beheading, but Bo tells him and The Ash that she only stopped Olivia from killing Jenny. At that moment, Olivia spurts out that it was Jenny, not she, who killed her husband. Bo rushes home to find a note from Kenzi saying if Bo wants her back, she'll have to come to a meeting point to get her. On the bed beside the note: Samir's head. At the outskirts of town, Bo finds Kenzi bound to a chair and Jenny holding a detonator to a homemade bomb big enough to blow the whole building to bits. Samir isn't the only lover Jenny has killed - there's a closet full of skulls from people who have gotten tangled up with her. Bo speaks sweetly to Jenny and starts approaching, but just before she's close enough to touch Jenny, Olivia's sisters - also Furies - arrive, seeking vengeance for their sister's madness and death. Bo fights them off and grabs Kenzi, and the two flee the scene as Jenny reaches for the detonator and blasts the building, with herself and the Furies, sky-high. Dyson rolls up just in time to see the blaze, and Bo describes the gory scene. Later at the bar, Bo thanks Dyson for covering for her for The Ash, and Dyson thanks her for wrapping up a serial killer case that had been open for far too long. Bo decides to move past the awkward phase and invite Dyson into a "friends-with-benefits" set-up, which he can't help but accept. And later that week, he's finally open up to his therapist about what's eating at him: His desire to be with Bo. Quote
LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 episode:Oh Kappa, My Kappa Just as Bo and Kenzi are settling in to their new, permanent home, they get a surprise visitor - a Will o' the Wisp who wants Bo's help getting his coveted collection of gems back from a thieving human. The Wisp - just call him Will - heard about Bo's triumphal win in her Fae test, and figures if anybody can catch this guy, it's Bo. Bo doesn't want to attract any attention from the Fae, so she's ready to turn him out, but Will snags her interest by offering info on her real parents - an offer Bo can't refuse. The only lead Will can offer is the human's backpack which contains, among other things, a gun. Bo and Kenzi head to the police station to enlist Dyson's help in finding out who it's registered to. Dyson warns Bo against getting involved, telling her that she'd face dangers beyond her imagining, but she must know about her history. Dyson gives her the name of the gun's owner - Michael Connell - and eventually they track him down to a motel on the outskirts of town. Bo approaches him, hoping to covertly find the gems, but Connell is on to her and draws a gun. He wants Bo to lead him to Will - his father. As Bo recovers from the shock that Connell is Will's half-Fae son, she and Connell are interrupted by a headless Fae assassin. With Kenzie's help, Bo manages to fell the murderer and get Connell to safety. Connell, who only wants to meet his father, says he'll return the jewels if Bo can set up a meeting. Will is floored by the news that he has a son, and apprehensively agrees to meet. In the meantime, Bo needs to get a handle on her hunger, and tracks down Lauren, the human doctor working for the Light Fae. Bo convinces her to administer a treatment that will lessen Bo's desire, but Lauren warns Bo that, under this treatment, she'll lose her superhuman ability to heal. Bo signs on willingly. Deep in the warehouse district, father meets son for the first time, but Connell changes the game when he announces his intention to tell the world the truth about Fae. His mother went crazy trying to get people to believe her about Connell's father, and now it's time for the son to clear his mother's name. Before anyone can try to talk him out of it, another headless assassin arrives, sent by Will before he knew the truth of Connell's origin. Kenzi gets the drop on him by finding his disembodied head and throwing it into one of Will's fairy fires, but not before Bo endures a deep slash on her neck. Kenzi tries to help, but Bo knows there's only one way for her to heal. She has to see Dyson and feel his energy. But, since her normal healing powers are stunted by Lauren's remedy, a normal succubus kiss won't do. The only thing that can mend Bo's wound is a lover's embrace. Quote

LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE Posted February 23, 2012 Author Posted February 23, 2012 episode:It's a Fae Fae Fae Fae World Meet Bo. She'sjust your average, gorgeous, butt-kicking, life-force-sucking bartender on the run. Her inhuman hunger for human energy has plagued her for the past ten years and is a secret she keeps close, but when she uses her power to stop a rape, her dark identity is exposed. The girl, a pickpocket named Kenzi, won't let Bo slip away without an explanation for the glowing blue light that escaped the man's body when she kissed him. Left with no other choice, Bo takes Kenzi under her wing in order to protect Kenzi and her own secret. But Kenzi wasn't the only one to learn of Bo's...ability. Bo left the crime scene in a hurry, and the rapist's body, disfigured from his encounter with the paranormal, was discovered by a local detective named Dyson, who is also more than he seems. Just as Bo and Kenzi are about to jump town, Dyson rolls up in a gray van with his partner and smuggles Bo away to an unknown location. Kenzi frantically tries to track Bo, but she may be too late. In a secret headquarters across town, a mysterious man called The Ash demands to know if she's allied with the Light or the Dark, and how she remained hidden for so long, but none of this means anything to Bo. The Ash doesn't believe her, nor does a woman called The Morrigan, who storms into the party unannounced with the threat of death on her lips. After hours of interrogation, Bo is released for examination by a sympathetic doctor named Lauren, who tells her that she, Bo, is a member of a large group of paranormal beings called Fae. Lauren goes on to say that Bo will have to choose to belong to the Light or Dark Fae, and that they can teach her how to control her power. Bo distrusts this hierarchy, however, and uses her powers of seduction - another strange trait of the succubus - to lure Lauren away from the facility. But the escape is foiled by The Ash and The Morrigan, leaders of the Light and Dark Fae, respectively, who demand that Bo undergo a test and declare her allegiance to one of their clans. Dyson, who believes Bo when she says that she doesn't know anything about Fae or succubi, tries to stop them, knowing that The Test - in which Bo will have to battle two Under Fae to the death - will most likely kill Bo. The clan heads are unmoved, however, and Bo must be tested. All Dyson can do is insist that Bo use her powers to take some of his strength. Because he is a different kind of Fae, she is able to use him without ending him, an experience that fills Bo with a thrill unlike any she's ever known. Bo's first opponent is strong but slow, and Bo is able to fell him quickly. But her next opponent is a Fae of the mind, who weaves a dreamscape around Bo and convinces her that the world would be better off without her. Just as Bo is about to end her own life at his bidding, a voice - Kenzi's - breaks through the reverie and snaps Bo back to her senses. She quickly dispatches her pasty foe and declares allegiance to neither Light nor Dark - she will spend her days among humans. The Morrigan tries to persuade The Ash that they should kill her, but both are convinced by an outside Fae called Trick that if someone has been able to keep Bo a secret for this long, it must be for a reason, and they should get to the bottom of the subterfuge before killing the girl. Bo is released, along with Kenzi, to live as normal a life as she can, but she's warned to stay where the clans can keep an eye on her. The newfound Fae is relieved to know that there are others like her in this world, and also aware that this knowledge itself is the beginning of a very long road. Quote
