Mahi Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 Both teams deserve the result 1-1,though Italy was little better.Spain had some serious chances of scoring but their finishing was bad .there were some good and bad replacements, the good were Natale(Italy) and Navas(Spain)the worst was Torres ,he had 4 good chances ,the first 3, I was like what is he thinking of,so slow and weak hits.there were also a deserved bunch of yellow cards,Italians were little aggressive also Spanish, but they're Mediterranean, and we Mediterranean have hot blood and have good bunch of nerves. It's also football,no cold blood in it.one sweet side was the presence of Spanish royals,Princess Laetizia was cheering on them as any ordinary person, moving and reacting, also her husband Prince Philllip was doing the same as her. nardev Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 I didn't expect that we (Croatia) will win game against Ireland. Croatia played terribly last few years. We won only one important game (Turkey) from Euro 2008. Now, who knows. We allways play good against Italy and in mostly case we win. Croatian beauty for croatian win. Quote
Mahi Posted June 10, 2012 Posted June 10, 2012 congratulations for Croatia,I didn't watch the match but not surprised with Croatia winning it,yes they played terribly last few years but in general they're strong, good team . As for their next match against Italy(next Thursday ,June 14) ,no comment(I'm with Italy) I'm also with Germans and thanx God they're in Group B not with group C Quote

Probably, it will be tie. In the last round you will smash Ireland and Croatia will lose from Spain. Spain and Italy in QF. Your performance against Spain was brilliant. Which team will you support if/when Italy plays against Germany? Quote
Lkjh Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 I was surprised for Italia-Spain to be a tie. It makes the game more interesting though Quote

Mahi Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 Italy1-1 Spain the match in photos 1st real chance for Italy by Pirlo's free kick Iker saved his net ,for me he was the best at the 1st round of the match, Silva surrounded by Italian defenders. Natale's goal for Italy, ordinary goal but made me jump from happiness Spanish celebrate the equaliser by Fabregas Italian coach Spanish coach 1 of 4 chances for Torres . the two goalkeepers congratulate each others, that what really matters at the end, having good spirit Quote
Michael* Posted June 11, 2012 Author Posted June 11, 2012 Intriguing game between Italy and Spain, great to see Cassano looking so well after his recent health problems. Â A deserved win for Croatia too. If there's a striker in European football on a richer vein of form than Jelavic, I haven't seen him. Why Robbie Keane continues to play such a prominent role for Ireland when he's so obviously past his best is such a logic-buster. Much like Roy Hodgson, Trappatoni has a limited pool of players to pick from, but Shane Long's pace and running would surely have tested the shaky Corluka a lot more than Keane and the hard-working but non-scoring Doyle. Also, as evidenced by Steve Bruce's misguided early-season tactics for Sunderland in 2011, John O'Shea can't play at right full-back for toffee. Â And so attention turns to the England-France game. Gulp! Quote

Michael* Posted June 11, 2012 Author Posted June 11, 2012 I doubt anyone's pulse would have been set racing by England's exploits, but it was certainly a disciplined, solid performance, and a point against the highly fancied French is not to be sniffed at. That'll do nicely for starters. Quote
Frederick Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 England did well all things considered. I would have liked to have seen Milner and Young swap positions during the second half for a little bit more impetus but otherwise everything was pretty solid, more so before Parker went off knackered. Be interesting to see how Sweden change things up for the next game, hopefully England can get a stranglehold on possession and really get at what looked a fairly so-so defence (sorry Olof, I still love you). Frederick Posted June 11, 2012 Posted June 11, 2012 P.S shame on the BBC for endlessly badgering Mats Hummels during the Portugal game. Quote
