Michael* Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 Quote Bryan Singer has just closed his deal to return to the director's chair for the X-Men franchise to direct X-Men: Days of Future Past, the next installment of 20th Century Fox's superhero series. The ink is still drying on the deal, we’ve learned. Matthew Vaughn was to direct the sequel to the hit spinoff X-Men: First Class, but we told you last week he was stepping back; word is he is near a deal to produce this one instead along with writer Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner. Singer launched the X-Men feature franchise with the first two superb films and has been a guiding influence in this spinoff by writing the treatment and producing. Fox already has the script for X-Men: Days Of Future Past. The confirmed cast members at this point are James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore and Anna Paquin, with Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, and Hugh Jackman currently in talks to reprise their respective roles. X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled for a release on July 18, 2014. Very early days I know, but this is all sounding rather exciting so far. Lawrence, Page, McAvoy and Fassbender confirmed, and Singer returning to the director's chair. Quote
Michael* Posted February 17, 2013 Author Posted February 17, 2013 Dinklage Joins Cast of Upcoming X-Men Epic Earlier this week it was announced that ''Game of Thrones' actor Peter Dinklage has joined the cast of Bryan Singer's upcoming X-Men epic, X-Men: Days of Future Past. Immediately fans thought Dinklage would be playing Alpha Flight member "Puck" but, as it was confirmed yesterday, the actor has been cast as the film's primary antagonist. This leaves open a lot of possibilities about which character the actor is playing. Today, MTV Geek is reporting that a source of theirs claims Dinklage has been cast as Bolivar Trask, the creator of the mutant-hunting Sentintels. This is by no means a confirmation on the actor's role, so treat this as a rumor for now. If true, it does present a few problems for director Bryan Singer (who claims to be using "Days of Future Past" as a way to "fix" the continuity of the X-Men films) because Trask appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand, played by actor Bill Duke. Check back here for confirmation on the casting as it is released. X-Men: Days of Future Past features a script by Simon Kinberg and is said to be inspired by Chris Claremont and John Byrne's comic book storyline that ran in "Uncanny X-Men" #141 and 142 back in 1981. "Days of Future Past" introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels. Dinklage joins Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore in the July 18, 2014. Cool, though to be honest, he'll always be the children's author in 'Elf' to me. Quote
Michael* Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 First look at James McAvoy as an even longer haired Xavier. Going to go out on a limb and assume it's set in the 70s. Quote
Michael* Posted June 3, 2013 Author Posted June 3, 2013 Sir Patrick Stewart Talks X-MEN: DOFP; Says Xavier's Resurrection Will Be Addressed “It’s interesting, its possibly 6 or 7 years since X-Men 3 when you recall Charles Xavier was vaporized by… what’s her name, Jean Grey. And you are asking yourself, ‘Well if you were vaporized, how can you be in the next X-Men movie?’ Anybody got any ideas how that came about? There will be an explanation, but it was a little puzzling to me cause I thought my X-Men days were over, but not so. So something to look forward to, cause there’s not much to look forward to these days really.” Sounds rather depressed, doesn't he? Cheer up, Patrick. The Force will be with you always. Oh wait... I had to laugh at him calling Jean Grey 'what's her name' though. Quote

Stan Lee won't make cameo appearance in 'X-Men: Days Of Future Past'Stan Lee has revealed that he won't be making a cameo appearance in X-Men: Days Of Future Past. The legendary comics writer and creator gave the disappointing news to Marvel fans at the Toronto Fan Expo last week. While he had previously suggested that he'd shoot a cameo in the movie, he couldn't fit the filming into his schedule, reports Comicbook.comHe said: "I have bad news for you. I was supposed to be in Montreal today, doing the cameo for X-men…the new X-Men movie. But I said, ‘No, I’m going to visit my friends in Toronto instead."Lee has made a cameo appearance in nearly every Marvel big screen adaptation, with this year's The Wolverine being the exception. Speaking about how he missed shooting that cameo, he said: "I wasn’t in Wolverine, because they shot that in Australia, and it was too far for me to swim. In most of the others, I’ll be popping up."Shooting on X-Men: Days Of Future Past came to an end last week. KelAnne_ Posted December 17, 2013 Posted December 17, 2013 ^ My boyfriend said he saw a fan-made video of that on youtube a couple years ago, this was never in the comics, just something a fan decided to do. So Bryan Singer used the idea? Quote
