Bar Refaeli Gets Tough With Phone Company

Israeli supermodel Bar Refaeli had her day in court today. This morning she testified in an Israeli court against Sunny, the company owned by Ilan Ben Dov that imports Samsung phones to the country. The case stems from a complaint Refaeli filed against the importer in March 2009, claiming that it used unedited video footage of her without her knowledge.

It’s not just a matter of money,” Refaeli said on the witness stand. “I even do things for free if it is good for my reputation.” Still, the model is suing Sunny for NIS 4.4 million ($1,163,000) for breach of contract in relation to an ad she filmed for the company in 2006. Refaeli claims that the company used her image for purposes not covered in her contract when it broadcast unedited footage of her on the Tapuz network. The model is upset that the photos “did not undergo any editing to ensure that they would guard her modesty and prevent any insult to her honor.”

Refaeli’s mother Tzipi also testified in the case. She reportedly said that although she normally doesn’t record conversations with business partners, she did record several with the people from Sunny with whom the family dealt. “I had a feeling that I was dealing with dishonest people who were tricking us throughout the filming,” she said.

i feel for Bar lack of privacy seems to be the downside of the popularity she's gained over the years.

HOWEVER i must say that seems like a ridiculous amount of money to be suing for. It always bothers me when rich celebrities sue for this kind of money. I'm not sure she'll win the case and if she does I doubt she'll get that money.

That amount might not be to help her, but to punish Suny.

if the money's going into her pocket then it's helping her. trust me i don't think they should get off easy. If they did in fact breach their contract with Bar, they do deserve to be punished for their actions. But to say it's not for her is just foolish unless she were to donate the money to a charity or such.

It is about half and half as many people like and fan becuase of the famous and for sure still all remember the old date with a famous movie start and SI going to all this famous parties and shows and so on but from

the other side many people do not like the fact of not doing the israeli army and serving israel like any other 18 old here

which must do army service.

about this case i remeber this very well and i think that this people are really not so nice but this is bussines

each side trying to get more and pay less and they hired bar and gave her a lot of publish

on the internet and on cinima while still she was young model not like today

so they cheat her about a bit and it is good that she is going on her rights and sue them but

the problem is that this people are really not nice and it is good what her father did to protect her

it is not a reson to leave israel just beause of one or two companies that not paying

as it is only 1% of all the work and in the future mabye less

bar's mother zipi is doing very very good work on protecting bar from the people who want to take advantage of her

and it is important as well.

about the fact that they took private photos of bar sms to her boyfriend i see it as a big joke

bar was on public room and knew all people taking photos and videos of her all day

if she want privacy she can go to other room alone or not do it in the same day.

many models here want to do contracts with suny and it is a dream of all the models here

as suny is well known company.

Hi Jazzy! No, I don't think Bar was crying. She was really annoyed and angry, for sure. I think Bar has been through worse hadshiph in her life than being stalked by photogs at a court house for testifying against a company who didn't respect a contract.
