Michael* Posted June 4, 2017 Posted June 4, 2017 Besson has had a few misfires but by and large, his stuff seems to do well at the box office. Interestingly, this movie seems very Mass Effect from a visual standpoint. Or perhaps Mass Effect was partly inspired by the original Valerian comics, I'm not too sure. Quote

Cult Icon Posted July 23, 2017 Posted July 23, 2017 This movie got sub-par reviews and it bombed. Quote
jkjk Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Visually fun and impressive. Weak story and poor pacing made it hard for me to stay interested. Quote
Michael* Posted July 30, 2017 Posted July 30, 2017 On balance, I think Besson was a little too preoccupied with showing off the world he’d created to tell an interesting story. It was an exhilarating ride and there were things in it that were positively jaw-dropping at times, but the end product was more like a series of cool episodes laid out one after another than a cohesive movie. Give it a look if you've got tenner to spare and nothing to do on a Tuesday evening. Quote
