Punk is about anti-establishment, not clothing (looking the part), and it sure as hell isn't about mainstream music you hear on MTV. NOTE: AFI is NOT a new band.. They've been around since the late 80's, early 90's and were totally punk back then... Now they are sappy mainstream emo music. Punk rock became a major phenomenon in the United Kingdom during the late 1970s..
