toodarnhot Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Swedish supermodel and Victoria’s Secret Angel Elsa Hosk most recently added fashion designer to her impressive résumé. As it turns out, the 26-year-old doesn’t just have great genes, she makes great jeans. She joined forces with Re/Done and Levi’s on a killer pair of flared pants (inspired by her longtime love of vintage and jeans, in particular), released this September, that already has fans begging for more. Here, she talks about her favorite New York City vintage spots, restaurants she loves, and who she calls style icons. How would you describe your style?I can’t have uncomfortable clothes. I like to be able to move, and I always dress [according to] my mood. My style is a mix of vintage and designers. I like ’70s vintage and good materials. Who or what inspires your style?Marlon Brando, Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Françoise Hardy, Yves Saint Laurent, and vintage magazines. I like to play dress-up and have a sense of who I want to be for the day, but most of the time I don’t think too much. I have a pretty clear idea of what I need my clothes to do when I wake up. How would you define New York style? No judgment! Freedom in terms of dressing. There’s no right or wrong here, and there’s something for everyone. I love when I see people who dress outrageous here. It makes me happy because they feel free to wear what they like, and that inspires me. Clothes are so much about your personality. It’s an armor for how you want to be perceived and how you see yourself. It’s quite amazing. I don’t think there is such a thing as dressing wrong. What are some of your favorite stores and restaurants in the city? Lucien on First Avenue, The Smile To Go for my morning coffee, Milos uptown, and The Odeon for good vibes. I have a lot of favorite vintage stores; Narnia on the Lower East Side is great. For a guaranteed finds: Barneys, Saint Laurent, Chloé, and Isabel Marant. Oh, and Gucci right now is my dream come true in terms of dressing. Read more: http://stylecaster.com/elsa-hosk-most-stylish-new-yorkers-2015/#ixzz3p7mSRn7h Quote
