Claudia Fernández (Seville, 1985) is a model whose passion is to take care of the health of others. At 33 years old, he is studying Medicine at the University of Seville. He has studied a degree in Tafad and took the public examination for the National Police. She started in the world of fashion at the age of 17 at theDoble Erre Agency in Seville. In 2003 she participated in the Miss Seville pageant. In 2007 she won the Linda Moda contest. Now, Claudia has presented a collection of Polish underwear thanks to her impact on her Instagram: @clau_dfz8.

–You have just starred in the new collection of Axami, a Polish erotic underwear brand. How did the project come about?

–This brand contacted me through social networks. Then I was quite surprised by the impact that the advertising video had on Instagram. For me it has been a normal and ordinary experience. When it comes to making the catalogue, it has been the same as any other work. I am used to doing a lot of advertising work, local campaigns and this has been another experience in my career.

–After starring in the spot, what did you feel when you were filming in erotic underwear through the most emblematic places in Seville?

–I felt quite proud of the beautiful city in which I live. To be working in a place with an environment and a location that represents my city, is a source of pride. I knew that they were going to be very nice photos.

–When and how did the idea of modeling begin?

It started when I was seventeen because my mother was also a model. She was the one who encouraged me to try this world, and when I did I loved it. I started very slowly. My mother signed me up at the Doble Erre Agency and my phone started ringing. Then I made a living. It is a profession that has no long-term outlet, which is why I have always been combining my work with my studies. Being a model was not my childhood dream. I've always had it as a hobby. I like being a model because it is the only job I can combine with a degree in Medicine.

–How was your entry into the world of fashion work?

–My entrance was with the Miss Seville pageant. I ran in 2003 and Eva González won. I was eighteen years old and it was the first time I had introduced myself. From there I started doing more work related to fashion. In 2007 I won the Linda España contest and for me it was a pride because I made myself known.

–What does fashion mean in your life?

–Fashion is my way of making money. It's a thankful job because everyone likes to look good in a photo. If I can earn money and pay for my studies by working as a model, I will do it as long as my body allows me. I am a person who goes beyond the superficiality of fashion. For me, being a doctor is the dream of my life.

What do you think stands out about you to be able to succeed as a model?

To be a model you have to have several values. I am a confident person. I'm at a stage in my life where, at my age, few things make me stagger. Being a positive person is also important.

–Do you think that fashion lasts a few years and then you have to dedicate yourself to something else?

–Fashion can have many approaches. There are brands that need young models and others that are older. I have been adapting to fashion. I started in beauty salons, then young clothing catalogs, then flamenco catalogs and now I do more advertising for creams. I think it is essential to have an education to get by in life. Fashion can be a model's plan A or plan B, but you need to have a minimum of languages and studies.

–How do you combine your work as a model and your medical studies?

This is the million-dollar question. Honestly, it's not easy. I sacrifice many pleasures in my life. I have my friends, my family and my leisure, but more parked. I talk to my friends by video call because I don't see them. If I'm not working, I'm studying. The time I have is to work, study and train a little.

Do you think that society gives too much importance to the physique?

I think it is given a lot of importance, but I don't think it's bad. As long as it is beneficial for health. It is good to give importance to the physique. If someone wants to have surgery to be better, I think that's great. The important thing is not to take it to an extreme level. For example, there are people who ask for loans to wear branded clothes.

What diet and sports routine do you maintain to maintain your figure as a model?

–I try to do a lot of toning exercises. The fundamental thing is food, which must be healthy. Eating a diet is complicated to follow, but you must be aware of what you eat. Nowadays we eat too much sugar and avoid trans fats. My motto is to eat everything that comes from the countryside and the sea. Studying medicine has made me value my body from the inside. People are not aware of what it is like to eat an unhealthy diet.
