For all the complaints about the casting, I actually really like this cast.

 

The huge issue is the terrible writing, which seems to get worse with each new episode. Some of the writing for Galadriel was truly awful in episode four.

Galadriel is a disappointment.  I like looking at her pretty face but her character sucks.  I was hoping for a younger, more active and goddess like version of Galadriel (with connections to the retired, passive version played by Cate Blanchett in Fellowship of the Ring)

A lot of fans theorize that Halbrand is Sauron in disguise.  That would be disappointing if true.

Episode 6 has tons of action and a lot of money was spent making it.

 

However, I can't shake the feeling that the director of this episode just wasn't that good at directing battles/action.

Galadriel is so miserable in this show.

 

It betrays common sense for the writing team to have the main character be so unlikeable and fanatical.  

 

They can be fanatical and have flaws but the character must at the same time be likeable and provoke deep empathy, while having positive traits as well.

I've been half-watching it, as background noise.

 

The CGI is worth watching but the show is a mess.  

 

I would rate it something like this so far:

 

Rings of Power  2 out of 5

Netflix Witcher  2.5-3 out of 5

House of the Dragon:  4.5 out of 5

Game of Thrones S1-S4:  6 out of 5

 

Episode 6 has the most action/CGI out of all the episodes so far.

This Tolkein/classic professor gave bad reviews for the first 5 episodes but a good one for 6.  I agree that episode 6 is best episode so far.  Amazon can improve the show if they learn from their many mistakes in Season 1.  Season 2 is beginning production and it will be 2 yrs before we get to see it.

Now, they admit it... but the woke monsters that run these companies will keep making their trash shows to boost their ego and ESG scores (you gotta please the cult). The only hope is that they lose interest and sell their studios. Woke managers are just uncreative opportunists that are drunk with power.
