SympathysSilhouette Posted September 19, 2022 Posted September 19, 2022 For all the complaints about the casting, I actually really like this cast. The huge issue is the terrible writing, which seems to get worse with each new episode. Some of the writing for Galadriel was truly awful in episode four. Quote

I like looking at her pretty face but her character sucks. I was hoping for a younger, more active and goddess like version of Galadriel (with connections to the retired, passive version played by Cate Blanchett in Fellowship of the Ring) Quote
Cult Icon Posted September 20, 2022 Author Posted September 20, 2022 A lot of fans theorize that Halbrand is Sauron in disguise. That would be disappointing if true. Quote
Cult Icon Posted September 29, 2022 Author Posted September 29, 2022 Interesting to see the differences between the two Galadriels. Quote

Cult Icon Posted September 30, 2022 Author Posted September 30, 2022 Episode 6 has tons of action and a lot of money was spent making it. However, I can't shake the feeling that the director of this episode just wasn't that good at directing battles/action. Quote
Cult Icon Posted October 1, 2022 Author Posted October 1, 2022 Galadriel is so miserable in this show. It betrays common sense for the writing team to have the main character be so unlikeable and fanatical. They can be fanatical and have flaws but the character must at the same time be likeable and provoke deep empathy, while having positive traits as well. Quote
Enrico_sw Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 I'm happy I haven't wasted one second on this show. Quote

The CGI is worth watching but the show is a mess. I would rate it something like this so far: Rings of Power 2 out of 5 Netflix Witcher 2.5-3 out of 5 House of the Dragon: 4.5 out of 5 Game of Thrones S1-S4: 6 out of 5 Episode 6 has the most action/CGI out of all the episodes so far. Cult Icon Posted October 2, 2022 Author Posted October 2, 2022 This Tolkein/classic professor gave bad reviews for the first 5 episodes but a good one for 6. I agree that episode 6 is best episode so far. Amazon can improve the show if they learn from their many mistakes in Season 1. Season 2 is beginning production and it will be 2 yrs before we get to see it. Quote
Cult Icon Posted October 8, 2022 Author Posted October 8, 2022 some badly written quotes from the show: The sea is always right. There is a tempest in me. Stab, twist, gut. There can be no trust between hammer and rock. Nothing is evil in the beginning. An avalanche can start with one stone. Faith may bind one heart, but it is too fine a thread from which to hang a kingdom. Cleverness is for men of small ambition. It's folly to kick against a current. Loyalty to a friend ought to be expected regardless of his race. A kingdom should be led, not dragged. A burden shared may be halved or doubled, depending on the heart that receives it. Sometimes to find the light, we must first touch the darkness. Find the light, and the shadow will not find you. Despise not the labor which humbles the heart. The iron that must bear the most heavy of burdens must also endure the most rigorous tempering. It darkens the heart, to call dark deeds good. It gives place for evil to thrive inside us. What cannot be known hollows the mind. Fill it not with guesswork. Every war is fought both without and within. Of that every soldier must be mindful. Quote
Enrico_sw Posted April 11, 2023 Posted April 11, 2023 Now, they admit it... but the woke monsters that run these companies will keep making their trash shows to boost their ego and ESG scores (you gotta please the cult). The only hope is that they lose interest and sell their studios. Woke managers are just uncreative opportunists that are drunk with power. Quote
